Quote requests and the price link

The Quote form, the Sample pack form and the Trade prices form all send requests to WooCommerce, Requests, and each one is also emailed to you. A quote request is answered with one price, which reaches the customer as a link that turns into a normal order.

The Requests screen

WooCommerce, Requests lists what came in, newest first, with who sent it, what it is, how many files, and where it is: New, Price sent, Ordered, not paid yet, Paid, Posted, Account open, or Closed. The menu shows how many are new. Open, Done and Closed at the top, and Every kind on the right, filter the list.

The emails

You get every request by email, from your shop, with Reply-To set to the customer, so a reply goes straight to them. The customer gets a short note that it arrived, which repeats nothing they typed. At most ten requests an hour are taken from one address.

Send a price

1

Open the request

Click the name in the list. What they sent is on the left, with their files to download.

2

Type the price

Type it the way you type your product prices; when your shop charges VAT, the box says whether that is with or without it. What it is is the name in their basket and on the order. Add what it includes, and tick Delivery is in the price if it is.

3

Click Send the price

The customer gets an email with the price and a button, Say yes and pay online. The request now shows their link, with a Copy button, to paste into a message as well.

Send the price on a quote request: Price, What it is, What it includes, Delivery is in the price and the Send the price button, then Close it and Delete
Send the price, on the right of every quote request, with Close it and Delete under it. What they sent, with their files, is on the left.

What the customer does

The button puts the job in their basket at your price and opens the checkout, with their name, email, phone and postcode already filled in. They give the delivery address and pay, and it arrives as a normal order with the job’s name and what it includes on the line. When delivery is in the price and nothing else is in the basket, the checkout offers delivery at no cost. When the order is paid the request says Paid, with a button to the order.

The link cannot sell the job twice: once it is paid it opens their paid order, and while an order is waiting for payment it opens that order’s payment page. Send the new price changes the price until they order.

Sample and trade requests

A sample request shows the address to post them to; click Mark as posted when they are in the post. A trade account request shows Open the trade account; see Trade customers and trade prices. Close it, nothing more to do moves any request to Closed, and Delete it and its files removes it for good.
