- On the Chat Widget tab, “Show the chat widget on my store” is ticked (it is off by default)
- In AI mode, a Gemini key is saved (in AI mode the widget needs a key to appear). Message mode shows with no key.
- You saved the tab after making changes
- Your caching plugin and browser cache are cleared
- Press Test connection on the Connection tab to check the key
- If you hit Google’s free daily limit, the assistant pauses about 10 minutes and offers WhatsApp instead, then resumes on its own
- Make sure Chat mode is set to AI, not Message
- That is on purpose. The field always shows blank so your key is never displayed
- Your saved key is still there. Only paste again if you want to replace it
- Live product answers need WooCommerce active
- The assistant only states prices and stock it can read from your catalog. For policy questions, fill the Business Profile tab
- Activate your license on the License tab
- Make sure the free Sellsmith plugin is version 1.1.0 or newer
- Lead scoring only runs on AI-mode chats, not message-mode leads
